Lavender is Universally known for its calming properties, improving mood, sleep, and mental health, reducing stress, anxiety, pain, inflammation, nausea, and headaches, killing bacteria, funguses, and viruses. Its vibrational frequency is 118 MHz, and widely known for healing or rapid restoration from minor burns, bug bites, and acne. Will also assist in treating hair loss, depression, and chemotherapy side effects.
In addition to its practical uses, lavender also has a rich spiritual history and symbolism. In many cultures and traditions, lavender is seen as a sacred plant with spiritual significance and deep spiritual meaning.
Ancient texts tell us that Lavender is a plant that has been used for centuries for its medicinal properties. It contains several bioactive substances, including terpenes, polyphenols, and flavonoids, which are thought to have health benefits. Here are some of the potential health benefits of lavender:
- Insomnia: Lavender has been used to help people with insomnia or other sleep disorders. Research suggests that breathing in lavender’s aroma could improve sleep quality.
- Anxiety: Lavender may provide support for people with anxiety. A large meta-analysis from 2019 found that people with anxiety disorders who took 160-milligram lavender oil capsules experienced significant decreases in anxiety.
- Headaches: Inhaling lavender essential oil may help relieve headaches.
- Chemotherapy side effects: Some studies suggest that inhaling lavender essential oil may help reduce chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.
- Acne: Lavender oil may help reduce acne.
- Burns: Applying lavender oil to burns may help promote wound healing and reduce inflammation.
- Eczema and dry skin: Lavender oil may help soothe eczema and dry skin.
- Spiritual traditions, lavender is associated with the divine feminine and the goddess. It is often used in rituals and ceremonies that honor the goddess, and it is said to promote a connection to the feminine energy of the universe. Lavender is also associated with the third eye chakra, which is associated with intuition and spiritual awareness.
Chamomile is a flowering plant that has a very light scent, that has been used as a medicinal herb for centuries. It contains more than 120 chemical constituents, including 28 terpenoids, 36 flavonoids, and 52 additional compounds. Chamomile comes in many forms, including essential oil, tea, and capsules.
Some of the ways chamomile can benefit your skin & sleep health include:
Contributing to wound healing: Chamomile can be applied to wounds that are slow to heal, including skin eruptions and infections such as shingles and boils. This works well in powder form, but chamomile can also be administered as a cream or medicated ointment.
Helping you to gently go to sleep and stay asleep: Chamomile tea and essential oil aromatherapy are widely used to treat sleep disorders like insomnia. Due to its sedative effects, chamomile acts as a mild tranquilizer.
A mild hint of Vanilla is added to set things off, as it is a good source of B vitamins like niacin, thiamine, vitamin B6, and pantothenic acid, which have an essential role in maintaining healthy skin. A bean derived from a sun-dried vanilla pod, obtained from the Vanilla Orchid, the properties of vanilla protect the skin from damage caused by pollutants and toxins. Rich in antioxidants, Vanilla may prevent, and reverse skin damage caused by free radicals while helping to slow down signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots.
Knockout Vetiver!
Extracted via steam distillation from the root of the vetiver plant – a perennial grass native to tropical regions of Asia – Vetiver essential oil contains an earthy yet spicy aroma that is considered extremely valuable in the world of aromatherapy. Also known as khus oil, Vetiver is amber to brown in color with a slightly more viscous consistency than its related herbal counterparts like citronella and lemongrass.
The value of vetiver lies in its extensive use in perfumery, particularly in men’s cologne, where it is considered a strong yet distinctive base note. I love this combination using Vetiver with Lavender because of its calming effects.
Some of the most prominent benefits of vetiver essential oil include:
- Boosting focus
- Balancing hormones
- Improving immune system
- Encouraging regular breathing during sleep
Vetiver oil strongly resonates with the Muladhara survival instincts or root (1st) chakra – the energy center that connects you with a sense of belonging, community roots and Mother Earth. Vetiver is also analgesic, antispasmodic, and anti-inflammatory which is very helpful in relieving muscle tension, stress, pains and joint stiffness.
Vetiver oil is believed to have a calming effect and may even help stimulate circulation and relieve symptoms of stress and anxiety. Although there is little research done to prove that it works to improve ADHD, a small 2001 study shows that the oil may improve ADHD symptoms.
